Basic Mind Movement

Our mind always moves forth and back between past, present and future. For example, When you decide to get married, the first thing is that your mind moves into the past when you had seen or heard unsuccessful or successful marriages of your friends or members of your family. You start analyzing your current decision based on the information that you collected in the past. Here you should remember that your decisions based on the past experiences often fail because the conditions in the present time are totally different than the conditions in the past.

Immediately after this your mind jumps into the future where you have stored your dreams and fantasies. The current decisions based on the dreams and the fantasies of future will also fail because they the time in future will be most of the times in contrast to your plans, dreams and fantasies. This is because when you plan something for future, that plan would not have built on the practical aspects which are going to happen in future and you are unaware of it.

So, making decisions on or analyzing any current situation, process, thought or a thing based on current elements will lead to proper understanding of things or problems on hand. But it’s always better to take a note of past and future just to make your path for your right decision. The past will tell you how to walk on a road. The future will tell you where to reach by walking on that road. But the present will tell you why to walk or why not to walk.

Acting requires deep self-knowledge and an understanding.

Some people think of acting as playing a character. If that is your definition, my argument holds. Everyone is an actor. Everyone has some kind of character. Everyone plays different roles. Sometimes you play the part of a parent, sometimes a boss. You play the lover and the villain...the hero and the victim. The only difference between you and the greatest actors, who have ever lived, is that they have the skills to do what you do naturally, ON CUE. They can take on someone else’s desires and go to work at achieving them with someone else’s words. It isn’t easy, which is why most people are pretty bad at it when they first try. They, in most cases, are only reading the words...reciting the lines. They are not going after anything. They are not using their words for a purpose, so they are ineffective.

But sometimes the character we play in real life is ineffective. At some point everyone has had the experience of being too shy, too frightened or lacked the confidence or determination to achieve their goals. They needed a different character to get the job done. In that case, wouldn’t it benefit everyone to learn to employ one during these times...to have the character that could do what needs to be done?

Many acting classes spend so much time trying to help the students to “be free”...to break through their blocks and barriers. Beginning students often become so obsessed with it that it becomes their objective in the scene rather than becoming absorbed in their character’s goal. And when your goal is “to be free” it assumes the condition of entrapment. No wonder they appear to be struggling. Get into your character’s mind...go after their desires and goals and you will have no room for your own self-limiting thoughts. This is true freedom as an actor. Just DO!!!

Shakespeare tells us “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players”. Guess we all might as well learn to act.

THE POSSIBILITIES OF ONLINE THEATRE EDUCATION

Earlier we were skeptical about teaching 'acting' online !! Wondered how to?? Though we have been training children as well as elders in acting, creative writing, screenplay, story building, filmmaking and other performing arts, we were unsure about taking classes online.

But since the present times demanded us to change the course of our lifestyles, thoughts and beliefs, we had to find and effective way to teach an adapt to new technology. So we pressed the refresh button !!

Today we are here, successfully heading batch after batch training children, the life skills through performing arts and training elders to become professional actors with our unique syllabus, breaking all the traditional & conventional methodology of teaching !!

We have been getting very positive and motivating feedback from parents as well as students. We are seeing remarkable changes in the behavior, attitudes and understanding perspectives in especially children. We are gaining confidence in our new teaching methodology.

Most importantly, we are charging truly nominal fees as we understand everyone is facing a new low in their economic status.

We appeal to all the parents to kindly join us in educating our next generation in a right way. Spread a word about us.

Thank you.

Importance of Theatre for Children

There are surprising and long term benefits to an early exposure and interest in theatre. Theatre gives children a safe space in which they hypothetically navigate their many social issues and therefore learn how to solve their own problems.

Today, an increasing number of communities are realizing how important theatre is to children’s development. Research shows that students who are exposed to the arts are more likely to be involved in community service and they will actually be working towards more effective thought processes.

Performing arts teach children how to think creatively through imagination. Creative thinking skills are critical in the world of business leaders, where the ability to create solutions to problems is a necessary and valued asset. The heart and soul of a company is creativity and innovation. Creative skills are one of the most important skills needed to be successful in any industry.

Theatre teaches children how to appreciate people of all kinds and how to respect other points of view. Students get to know different cultures, personalities, natures, attitudes and different human emotions and traits. Theatre allows you to step into someone else’s shoes and see life from their point of view. This teaches young people lessons of empathy and cultural relativity.

Frequently children watch TV. They are not used to focusing on one thing for along time. They are addicted to see a new image every 3-4 seconds. Theatre helps children to learn how to sit quietly, respect others, and pay attention.

Theatre exposes young people to new vocabulary and ways of communicating. It is the single most valuable place where kids can explore the endless possibilities of their imaginations.

Without theatre, children not only miss out on an amazing artistic experience, but they lose the chance to experience an endless amount of learning opportunities. For sure, children with theatre, improve in their school performance and also learn creativity, culture, communication, patience, morals, and imagination.

SEND YOU CHILDREN TO OUR ONLINE ACTING WORKSHOP.

In search new perspectives of training

It has been our constant efforts to find new perspectives and new methodology to teach Acting. Being active in theatre and films since 30 years we have been adding our practical experiences in our teachings.

This time, for our next Acting Workshop which is going to be launched on 25th March 2021, we have reconstructed our curriculum with new and workable insights. We dug deep into the concept of Body Language and came up with some interesting aspects and we named it as Gesture Engineering. We are sure that it is going to help the aspiring Actors in abundance !!

Like wise we have framed a new syllabus for Voice Culture and Speech training as Speech Science deviating from the traditional way of teaching. Needless to say our next generation Actors need in depth knowledge and insights about the whole Speech Science.

Also, we have worked days and nights to understand what actually is the movement theatre which is normally explained with the age old concept of physical theatre. The result is mind boggling !! Yes, we came up with a new dimension called Mind Movement which obviously opens up many mysterious doors to master the great art of ACTING.

Hope the gen next Actors benefit from this.

The explorations never End.

Thank you.

Moving Ahead - Post Pandemic 2020

When the world was slapped with a mask on its face due to the Novel Corona Virus pandemic, one of the most affected sectors was the entertainment sector and particularly, the performing arts society.

Rangaratha - Indian Performing Arts Company (IPAC), making a strong presence with its own productions Malavikagnimithra and Shakthi had to suddenly push its brake pedals. The crisis was hitting us for real. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Yes, we believed in this.

Rangaratha started its online Yoga training for its team. Also, the team explored other skills such as dance, singing, writing, etc. and nurtured them with the help of each other and its mentors. Indeed, this was an effort to find new career possibilities in the field of performing arts.

As the lockdown days rolled, the team found innovative and safe ways to entertain the depressed cross section of the society with its popular productions. We staged Shakthi in the apartment lounges and rooftops. This was a morale booster for ‘Corona-troubled’ people.

As the opportunity to perform at Rangashankara longue opened, we did participate in the RS-Connect as well as Platform show organized by Rangashankara. We read poetry, performed dance, and did rehearsed reading of a new play ‘Chakravaaka’.

Now the doors of theatre halls are all set to open again. And here we are..

We are COMING BACK on stage again with our popular play Malavikagnimithra on 13th January 2021.

Please do come.

importance of being an Actor

The world need actors and performers. Not merely to entertain but to educate. Yes, we educate, we motivate, we help people introspect.

An actor sees that the society is in harmony. We keep a check on social balance, political interests, cultural preservation and historical relevances through our plays, dance and other performances. Though this appears as a non-essential profession, performing arts indeed play an important and vital role in energising and improving the quality of life, thought process and spiritual insights among rest of the professionals in any given society across the world.

This is the reason why we say … Actors or Dancers have more social responsibility.
