When the world was slapped with a mask on its face due to the Novel Corona Virus pandemic, one of the most affected sectors was the entertainment sector and particularly, the performing arts society.
Rangaratha - Indian Performing Arts Company (IPAC), making a strong presence with its own productions Malavikagnimithra and Shakthi had to suddenly push its brake pedals. The crisis was hitting us for real. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Yes, we believed in this.
Rangaratha started its online Yoga training for its team. Also, the team explored other skills such as dance, singing, writing, etc. and nurtured them with the help of each other and its mentors. Indeed, this was an effort to find new career possibilities in the field of performing arts.
As the lockdown days rolled, the team found innovative and safe ways to entertain the depressed cross section of the society with its popular productions. We staged Shakthi in the apartment lounges and rooftops. This was a morale booster for ‘Corona-troubled’ people.
As the opportunity to perform at Rangashankara longue opened, we did participate in the RS-Connect as well as Platform show organized by Rangashankara. We read poetry, performed dance, and did rehearsed reading of a new play ‘Chakravaaka’.
Now the doors of theatre halls are all set to open again. And here we are..
We are COMING BACK on stage again with our popular play Malavikagnimithra on 13th January 2021.
Please do come.
